THERE IS NO EVIDENCE that eating frequently and forcing yourself to eat throughout the day offers any benefits.

“When eating, just eat!”

Buddist Proverb

There is no evidence that eating frequently and forcing yourself to eat throughout the day offers any benefits. In fact, because snacking and ‘grazing’ behaviours are so detrimental for many people, it’s better to simply eat when you’re hungry. If you are eating a diet that is based on natural, whole and unprocessed food, you’ll slip into a very natural pattern of eating, for you, and this may not be anywhere near six meals per day. I regularly eat only 2-3 meals per day and never suffer from energy crashes or impaired performance as a result. This rule also applies to specific meals. For example, if you’re not hungry at breakfast…then don’t eat! Simply eat when you first feel hungry…and make sure that each meal is a good, balanced one!
