Cliff’s 101 Tips for Health: If you’re vegetarian, use flax and hempseed oils

Omega-3 fats are crucial for health.

Omega-3 fats are crucial for health. They help us to regulate inflammation in the body and are considered to have positive effects on mood, cognition, cardiovascular health, and immune function. Vegetarians should supplement with a high omega-3 oil such as flaxseed – especially since they will not be using fish oils to supply these crucial fats. Be wary of inferior quality flaxseed oils though. If they smell bad (rancid), ditch them and get a new bottle!

Use 1-2 tablespoons of flaxseed or hempseed oils per day if you are vegetarian to supply essential omega-3 fats or find a vegan DHA/EPA product derived from algae.
